When the Wife's AwayMy wife left for a conference. I’m flying solo with the kids for the next four days. She left a list of instructions that I’m supposed to follow.

Yeah right, that lasted about fifteen minutes after she left at 11 AM Sunday morning.

So far the kids have watched several hours of Star Wars: Clone Wars DVDs, played a bunch of games on the iPad, iPods and computers, mostly “Angry Birds”, and watched another movie before getting ready for bed. They had burritos for lunch and pizza for dinner, washed it down with Gatorade and had cookies for desert.

I’m not a total loser. I read to them and made them read to me. I made sure that they were cleaned up, put on clean jammies and had brushed teeth before putting them to bed. Tomorrow we’ll have to get back on some kind of schedule because I have to work. It won’t be her schedule though. There will still be junk food for the next couple of days and more movie time with daddy. Maybe we’ll have blueberry pie for breakfast. My wife made one just before she left.

And it’ll be fun.
