30 Dads, 30 Days – Jim Lin – Busy Dad Blog

June 26, 2012

Better late than never, Life of Dad’s 30 Dads in 30 Days is back with our final feature. Today we take a closer look at Jim Lin, who is the genius behind the amazing Busy Dad Blog.  Jim is a well trained MMA Ninja Assassin, as well as a father to two great kids.  Aside from that, if you haven’t checked out his Lunchbox Daily feature, you are missing out!

I really became a father when… I licked my finger and used it to wipe residual toothpaste from my kid’s face before I dropped him off at school.  Actually, that’s the day I became my mom.

My son makes me laugh when… he beats me to a punchline I was opening my mouth to say.

Favorite daddy cocktail once the kids crash?  Jack Daniel’s, neat. I never go to bed without my daily ramp down.

Dream date night with your lady, where would you go?  Fishing, with bologna sandwiches and beer.  You did ask for MY dream date, right?

What is the hardest thing about fatherhood?   Resisting high fiving your kid when he does something you would totally do, and scolding him instead.

What’s in your man cave?  Red Bull fridge my buddy got me from a 7-11 going out of business (it’s my beer fridge), a vintage stand-up Afterburner video game, flat screen, my guitars and my framed Tennessee Squire certificate.

How many hours of sleep each night? 4 Hours

How has fatherhood changed in the past 20 years?  Dads now get their hands dirty with parenting, both literally and figuratively.

Dream family vacation?  A week in a cabin on the shore of some lake, with my own dock.  Lots of fishing, beer and bologna sandwiches, but since I would get out-voted on that, let’s just go with somewhere tropical, with white sand beaches and drinks with umbrellas.  And maybe one fishing trip scheduled in there somewhere.

Be sure to go and check out Jim’s great website, Busy Dad Blog.  Also, follow Jim on Facebook and Twitter.
