1)  It’s my mom’s 40th Birthday (plus 20).
2)Â Â My daughter, Babs, met her pre-school teacher for the first time.
I like to think that the two kind of go hand in hand, because as Babs is about to start pre-school next week, today we celebrate a big birthday for the best teacher that I ever had.
I had some great teachers in school over the years, but my mom taught me everything important, including:
1)Â Â How to tie me shoes
2)  How to roll my eyes at my dad’s sense of humor
3)Â Â How to be kind, compassionate and caring
4)Â Â How to balance a checkbook
5)  How to smile so I don’t look like a fool on camera
If my mom hadn’t given birth to me, well, I wouldn’t have married a great girl, and I wouldn’t have a 2.6 year old daughter right now about to start school (Yep, we’re starting her young!)
And if I didn’t have a 2.6 year old daughter, she wouldn’t have said the following in the car today after going to pre-school for the first time.
Babs: “Daddy I’m sad.”
Me: “Why are you sad baby?”
Babs: “I want to go back to Preschool.”
She’s gonna be a smart one, just like my mom hopefully raised me.
