I love going to New Hampshire because I get to see my friends and family. This past weekend Jess, the girls, and I drove up for five fun filled days. We had my nephew’s football game, my college roommate’s wedding, Jess and my anniversary, and my dad’s birthday. With all those events I wanted to make the most of our time up in New England. My wife and I wanted to take my dad out for his birthday and make sure we could go to a place where both the kids and the adults could have a great time. We wanted to be able to talk with my dad while the kids were entertained. My dad mentioned Bugaboo Creek. I thought why not since it was my dad’s suggestion.
We get there and my youngest Jordan was happy that we were going to eat a place that was named after her. My wife gave Jordan the nickname of “Bugaboo” so that was a plus for Jordan. We sit down at the table and we are greeted by a talking buffalo and moose. The girls were giggling and my dad, Jess, and I knew that we had some entertainment for the girls to keep them happy while the adults could talk about grown up things.
Lily and Jordan were staring at the kids at the next table as they were drinking out of cups that were flashing different colors. We asked the waitress what was up with those drinks and she said it was their “Northern Lights” drink. So of course we ordered two lemonades in the cup with the fancy lights. So we had talking animals and glowing drinks for my girls and they were in kid heaven! (Which also made us be in parent heaven!)
The girls were having so much fun that they didn’t mind eating broccoli with their meal. They probably could have eaten a bowl of spinach as long as they got to have the “Northern Lights” drink to go with their meal. The kids menu has a great variety of kid fare to make sure your kids will find something to eat.
I was able to order a great steak and enjoy some quality time with Jess and my dad and enjoy some great conversation. I know that as a parent with young kids that going out to eat can be a struggle and you wonder if it is worth the hassle. It can get dicey if your kid finishes their meal before you do and wants to go home and starts to make a scene. Our girls were having so much fun watching the animals’ talk that Jess and I were the ones saying we had to leave. So if you are looking to take the kids out and have them entertained while your whole family has great food to eat check out Bugaboo Creek.
