On each of the 30 days leading up to Father’s Day, Life of Dad will feature a different incredible father from around the world.
Today we meet Art Eddy, a cool stay-at-home dad living in New Jersey. A great husband and proud father to Lily and Jordan, Art is an accomplished writer, and radio host. Art is part of the hilarious Masters of None podcast, and he’s the producer/co-host of The Life of Dad Show podcast. On to Art’s interview!
I really became a father when… Lily was born. I always thought this next phrase was cliche, but a baby changes everything. I am very proud to be a dad to two awesome girls.
My kids make me laugh when… a) Lily and I do our Kiwi Face or Scary Monster Face and Scary Monster Walk and b) Jordan makes the same sound effects I do and tries to give me an atomic elbow.
Favorite daddy cocktail once the kids crash? Sam Adams Summer/Octoberfest or a Rum and Coke.
Dream date night with your lady, where would you go? Nice restaurant where we can eat outside and just chill and have a conversation where we don’t get interrupted every ten seconds.
What is the hardest thing about fatherhood? Having patience.
What’s in your man cave? 55 inch flat screen, XBOX 360, home theater system, Michael Jordan framed jersey, life size R2-D2 that holds 5 Force FX replica lightsabers, Peter Mayhew signed Chewbacca picture and some of my kids finger paint artwork.
How many hours of sleep each night? On average 5 to 6
What food that your kids eat do you like the most? PIZZA!
How has fatherhood changed in the last 20 years? Listening to less 2Pac
Dream family vacation? Disney. I know my girls would love it and I can go on Star Tours and build my own lightsaber.
