cusdenAs we continue to approach Father’s Day, we continue to feature great dads.  Today, it’s Michael Cusden, and we’ll let him take it from here…

My name is Michael but my friends call me Cuzzy. I am a dad (two sons, ages 3 and 7 months) living in Halifax, Nova Scotia and by day I am an online marketer and by night, I am the blogger behind Like A Dad. Currently I am taking 6-months away from the daily grind of office life, to stay home with my baby boy. When not changing diapers and wiping puke off my shirt, I enjoy smoking meat on my Big Green Egg, keeping up with the latest sports news and helping my wife maintain sanity in our household. Being a dad is the best job in the world and I love to share my adventures with the online world.

My first memory as a father is…  Not knowing what to answer when the nurse asked what we were naming our baby boy. The wife and I had not 100% finalized it at the time.

The funniest thing my kids do is… Our 3-year old sings the lyrics of rap songs that mom and dad like to listen to.

How many hours of sleep do you get each night?  Used to be 7 when working, now a SAHD it is down to 6. Pretty damn good right?

If you your wife could vacation without your kids, where would you go?  Hmm I would like to go to England/Ireland but I know my wife would rather go somewhere warm and tropical.

What’s your favorite meal?  Smoked ribs with all the fixings

My most traumatic parenting experience was when…  I gave my son (1-year old at the time) a blue froot loop at breakfast. He started not being able to breath. We had to go to emergency. Turns out it was not the froot loop at all.  It was intussusception. Long, scary day at the hospital but it worked out in the end.

If fatherhood was a beer, which type of beer would it be and why?  Harp – classic and old school

Describe your perfect Father’s Day.  Playing with kids outside, smoking meat all day and just taking it easy at home.
