So, while working on today’s kid craft, a shoebox-rubber band guitar, we ran into a couple of issues.  The shoebox we used was just a little too big for the rubber bands we had.  But, we were determined.  We were unwavering.  We were making a shoebox-rubber band guitar, and we were going to jam on it once it was complete!  Hole cut in the shoebox, I stretched the first rubber band around the box and POP.  It really stung!  The second one went on a bit better.  The third one, POP.  Ouch.  Finally, I got three on there, enough for the kids to jam with.  One of my boys, Eli, went first and really got into it, strumming, dancing, jumping around like a bona fide rock star.  Next up was Luke.  POP.  It must’ve really gotten his finger when the rubber band broke because he threw the guitar, said he never wanted to touch it again, and cried.  A lot.  When his mom went to check on the hurt finger…the middle one…he showed it to her in that oh so special way.

Ah.  Memories.
