Captain’s Log. Daddy Chronicles. Diaper Date 1671. The Captain is holding down day 2 of the sick kid at home. Mrs. Captain got the first round. How did we get here? You can read about it here. It is a fun tale that even references the great ghost of Shoeless Joe Jackson. Unfortunately, I think I may have lost some favor with Mrs. Captain in the process…lol.
In the meantime, I am on poop, puke, and crankiness watch. The Eldest has also graced me with her presence and is a big helper. So far, I have only had to swab the decks once. Hopefully that holds true for the rest of the day. In the meantime, we are busying ourselves with play, music, dancing (The Eldest), and some fun t.v. (music videos). The Diaper Dweller plays for short spells and then needs to stop and snuggle. The Captain does not mind that in the least.
So the Captain wants to know what you do on sick days? What are your secrets? Whether you are a stay at home dad/mom, a dad/mom working and taking a sick day, what do you do? How do you balance it all?
There is laundry to be done. Food to prepare. AND fun to be had. It isn’t easy, but it is still a blessed life. What do you do to make the most of it?
Well, duty calls. This diaper thing is a crappy job, but someone has to do it. (Sorry, couldn’t resist.)
