On each of the 30 days leading up to Father’s Day, Life of Dad will feature a different great dad from around the world.

Today we feature Creed Anthony, a great husband, father of two (Sophia-4, Isaac-1), and a huge sports fan.  Creed also runs a smart and hilarious blog, The Captian’s Log…Tales from the Poop Deck, where he navigates the stormy waters of fatherhood.  Do go check out his site, but first read his interview…

I really became a father when…  I read to my daughter for the first time.  I know she had no clue what I was reading, but it was special to me.  And as a bonus, education research books always put her to sleep.

My kids makes me laugh when… the two of them play and laugh at each other.  There is no better sound in the world than hearing your own kid(s) laugh about anything.  Unless, of course, they are laughing at you.  Okay, it is still funny then too.

Dream date night with your lady, where would you go?  Dream date?  Tropical island, dinner on the oceanfront (seafood for her, steak for me).  Lazy time on the beach to read and relax.  Some days it is just to have enough time to take turns taking a nap…

What is the hardest thing about fatherhood?  Knowing when to let go and when to step in.  It is a delicate balance that is different with every kid and each situation.

What’s in your man cave?  When you find it let me know – I don’t have one.  We are working on that and a place for my wife to scrapbook.  We might rent an apartment.

How many hours of sleep each night?  4-6 hours depending on what is going on that day/week.

What food that your kids eat do you like the most?  My son and I are partial to hamburgers.  My daughter and I love pizza.

How has fatherhood changed in the last 20 years?   We have more advanced tools.  We also have more advanced packaging.  It takes half the time to assemble a crib.  It takes four times as long to get a toy out of a package.

Dream family vacation?   Probably a trip to Disney, the beach, and a cruise.

*Side note. I don’t know if you even understand how much we love Creed at Life of Dad. He’s been a great supporter, writer, and friend….but most importantly, Creed has the first-ever Life of Dad tattoo. Check it out!
