On each of the 30 days leading up to Father’s Day, Life of Dad has featured a different great dad from around the world. Well, tomorrow is Father’s Day, and we plan on finishing this campaign strong! Over the next two days we will be interviewing two of the funniest and most creative dads out there…
Today we feature Andy Herald, one-half of the Dads from the popular blog How To Be A Dad! Andy is father to three wonderful children, ages 3, 11 & 13, so as you can imagine, he gets about as much sleep as the rest of us. His photoshop skills are second to none, their videos are great, and as of last week, you can catch the HTBAD boys in their new gig over at Babble Voices for their new column called Night Of The Living Dads. Here is Andy’s interview!
I really became a father when… I know it sounds cliché, but it was the tiny hand wrapped around my giant daddy thumb for the first time moment.
My kids makes me laugh when… They all say the craziest, most hilarious things that put the entire family into piss-yourself fits of laughter. It’s great ab workout in the Herald family.
Favorite daddy cocktail once the kids crash? Red wine if I’m not working late, coffee if I am, and unicorn blood if I’m not going to sleep at all.
Dream date night with your lady, where would you go? Dreams are the only place dates happen with my lady. So, since air travel is super fast and free in dreams: Italy.
What is the hardest thing about fatherhood? Measuring up to my own standards.
What’s in your man cave? It’s a home theater with couches and an XBox 360. It’s my “happy place.”
How many hours of sleep each night? Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Yeah right.
What food that your kids eat do you like the most? I’m not too overweight, so don’t get the wrong idea, but I eat anything. One of my nicknames in the family is the “garbage disposal.”
Dream family vacation? Italy! On a vineyard, with a T3 connection to the villa. and vespas for everyone.
Be sure to go and check Andy’s website, How to Be A Dad. Tomorrow, we’ll be featuring Andy’s partner in crime, Charlie Capen. For now, go connect with Charlie and Andy on Youtube, Facebook and Twitter!
