Dads love showing their support for their kid’s achievements. Some dads jump up out of the stands and clap as loud as they can when their child hits a home run. During a recital a dad might look to bring the biggest bouquet of flowers for their child to receive after the show.

Now with social media and the internet, dads are finding new ways to show their support. Take actor Sam Rockwell’s dad for example. Pete Rockwell posted a comment on a New York Times article supporting his son’s performance in the film, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

The great thing about this comment was that it was nestled in with other people’s comments. It could have been a coincidence that someone with the last same name decided to comment on Sam’s performance, but it wasn’t someone else. It was Sam’s dad. The comment section on that post in the New York Times has over 450 comments. So it Pete’s comment could have gone unnoticed if he choose to write something else. What did Pete write you may ask?

Words of praise from Pete Rockwell to Sam Rockwell

“I loved this movie, and intend to see it again. My son, Sam, won a Golden Globe for playing Jason Dixon,” he added. “I think I would still love the movie if another actor had played Dixon…But not quite as much.”

The person’s name from that comment on that thread was Pete Rockwell of Culver City.

Recently Sam won the Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Comment section for great dads….

We here at Life of Dad love the fact that Pete went on a message board on the New York Times to praise his son’s work! If there was a message board for awesome dads we would take the time to post a nice comment of your actions as a loving and supporting dad!
