Darius Rucker first attained multi-Platinum status in the music industry as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Grammy award-winning Hootie & the Blowfish. Since re-introducing himself to the world as a country artist, he has released four consecutive albums to top the Billboard Country albums chart and earned a whole new legion of fans. In 2014, Rucker won his third career Grammy award for Best Solo Country Performance for his 4x Platinum selling cover of Old Crow Medicine Show’s Wagon Wheel, off his album, True Believers. Darius spoke with me about being a dad and what he looks to teach his kids as they grow up.

Marc Roberge
Marc Roberge and the rest of his bandmates have been together for twenty years now. They document that journey in their an album called XX. One of their songs from that album called I Go Through focuses on family. In my past career working in radio I met the band once and thought really highly of them. That notion didn’t change when I was able to chat with Marc about the song I Go Through and fatherhood.

Andrew McMahon
As parents we all have done it. We are singing to our children as we are holding them. Whether it is lullabies or silly songs we as parents feel that music is a great way to communicate to our children. Have you ever wrote a song about your child? Well Andrew McMahon wrote one for his daughter while his wife was pregnant with their child. I am guessing most of you have heard it. The song is called Cecilia and the Satellite. It is a beautiful song and as a father the song really spoke to me the first time I heard it. Andrew put his words about being a father into that song and made it a worldwide hit. I chat with Andrew about fatherhood and his inspiration for the song he wrote for his daughter.
